We last hosted the Carducci in January 2020 and we welcome them back to perform one of their specialities – an all Shostakovich programme, marking the 50th anniversary of his death in August 1975.  Ten years ago they embarked on their monumental “Shostakovich 15” programme, performing all 15 of his quartets throughout the world and also recording them all.    

They were described by The Strad as presenting “a masterclass in unanimity of musical purpose, in which severity could melt seamlessly into charm, and drama into geniality″.
