For the last two years the three young students of the Astatine Trio have been astonishing
audiences in the South-East with the power and maturity of their playing. The Brighton-based Hamie sisters Berniya and Riya are joined by the Serbian violinist Jelena Horvat, recipient of the 2022 Royal Philharmonic Society Emily Anderson prize. In 2022 the trio
were unanimously awarded the first prize at the Senior Intercollegiate Piano Trio
Competition in London, as well as the first prize and Luigi Boccherini prize of the International Virtuoso and; Belcanto Chamber Competition in Lucca, Italy, together with joint
first prize at the Birmingham International Piano Chamber Music Competition.
